• Probably best to avoid ivy, argyle, sheaf, PJs, pav, etc. unless you want to see a specific headliner.
  • Check out the Facebook Group “House And Techno Sydney (H.A.T.S)”
    • On that HATS Facebook group, the admin posts a list of gigs every Wed/Thursday called “Gig List” which will list almost all the electronic gigs in Sydney from that Thursday-Sunday. These are (to the best of the admin’s ability) tagged with genre.

Neighborhoods/venues to go out

  • Newtown is a drinking area. The people feel mostly the same no matter which bar / pub you end up in. Highlights are The Courthouse, The Carlisle Castle and Bar Planet.
  • Maybe catch a train to Newtown station and then wander down Enmore road or king street , make a couple of stops at places that you like the look of . Also try the Lord Gladstone at Chippendale (it’s just a pub) and look up Mad Racket (Resident Advisor website is best) if you just want a cool fun night with awesome chill DJs and whatever the opposite of the Ivy crowd is.
  • If we want to have a rowdier night we walk down to The Imperial in Erskineville - gay bar that goes off on the weekends.
  • Lazybones Lounge -Marrickville
  • Soda Factory in Surry Hills has some fun nights
  • Club 77 - check out their sets
  • Burdekin is good for house music on Fridays
  • Ramblin Rascal
  • The Establishment
  • Employees Only
  • Caterpillar Club
  • Stitch Bar
  • Marble Bar (not on Fri or Sat tho)
  • Hotel Harry (upstairs)
  • Shady Pines Saloon (for a good laugh and a total piss take at the States)
  • Ramblin Rascal has good vibes, tonnes of small bars around
  • Alcatraz and the Lady Hampshire both in Camperdown
  • Take a look at what the red rattler has going on in Marrickville, as well as Vic on the Park.
